Hello! My Name is Mike. I am from the Eastern US.
By day – I am an electrician, Dad to three awesome kids, and husband to my mind-blowingly awesome wife…
But by night – I morph into a whole new creature: A gigantic nerd.
I have always held a fascination with programming, game development, and tech in general. Beginning in the late 90’s, I first began programming by discovering “Visual Basic”. Eventually, this evolved into several derivatives of the Basic language (Looking at you Darkbasic! I spent alot of time with this one).
I bounced around a lot, and dabbled with pretty much every even remotely used language out there that I could find during this era, including LUA, XML, Python, C++, and several other lesser known languages. I dare say I’ve never “mastered” any of them, but I’ve sure used them all.
I spent the next few years of my childhood building an assortment of projects – ranging from simple programs that filtered/sorted datasets, to various sized games (many of which were wayyy too big for my 10-14 year old self to ever finish! haha). I also contributed to quite a few open source projects over the years.
For the past 10 years or so, C# has been my language of choice, and has been mostly what I’ve used in my hobby projects. I watched the Godot engine evolve over the course of several years, and a few months ago I took the plunge myself. I’ve fallen in love with the engine, and with the design philosophy behind Godot – I even love GDScript for its simplicity, and power.
I have been a hobbyist tech nerd for most of my life, and have only recently decided to launch an indie dev studio. My intention behind this website is to create a series of posts about game development – primarily focused on Godot -, and to have a place to discuss my projects.
I’m naturally long winded (if you can’t tell by this long about me page!), so feel free to leave me comments, yell at me on social media, shoot me an email, or drop me a line on discord.
